Lauren Prewitt, D.O., F.A.C.O.O.G. is a traditional Osteopath and a Board Certified Ob/Gyn.
In 1999, Dr. Prewitt completed her undergraduate degree in Biology, with a minor in English at Westmont College. She graduated from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in 2004. Dr. Prewitt completed her OB/GYN training at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in 2008.
Her personal interest in cranial-sacral manipulation began in 2000 with her exposure to Traditional Osteopaths in California. She applied to Osteopathic Medical School and continues her study with advanced courses with The Cranial Academy, The Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation, and Traditional Osteopathic studies with James Jealous.
From 2008 to 2013, Lauren worked in Templeton for Central Coast Ob/gyn. Dr. Prewitt completed her OB/GYN board certification in 2011. In 2013, she left the group and formed her own medical corporation. She is a third generation self-empoyed person. She opened her Gynecology office in San Luis Obispo in 2015 and stopped practicing Obstetrics in 2017.
She is a Fellow in good standing in The American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is an active medical staff member at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. Dr. Prewitt is adjunct faculty at Western University and Touro University, two Osteopathic Medical Schools in California. She is an active member in the Central Coast Osteopathic Regional Society.
She resides on the westside of Atascadero. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, his daughters and their two dogs, “Molly” the Jack Russell and “Roxy” the Catahoula. She is an enthusiastic supporter of other self-employed healthcare providers and local artists.
